Summary of the contracting process

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) has initiated an open tender for the procurement of an Alkaline Electrolyser Test Station. This process, classified under "Laboratory, optical and precision equipments (excl. glasses)" in CPV scheme 38000000, is aimed at enhancing NPL's testing capabilities. The procurement stage is currently in the tender phase, with the tender period ending on 16th September 2024. The contract, which will commence on 21st October 2024 and conclude on 31st December 2025, involves the supply, on-site commissioning, and training for the test station. Located in Teddington, London's TW11 0LW postal region, this procurement calls for an open procedure (above threshold), facilitating competitive participation from suitably qualified businesses.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the laboratory and precision equipment industry, particularly those focusing on high-current, high-pressure testing systems. SMEs are especially encouraged to participate, as the procurement is designed to be inclusive of smaller enterprises. This project not only offers the supplier a substantial contract but also the chance to build a key partnership with a high-profile national laboratory. Companies capable of providing advanced, programmable, and automated test stations for long-term use at industrial conditions are ideally suited to compete in this tender, fostering business growth through enhanced visibility and credibility in the scientific and industrial sectors.
