Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Workshops - Health Education England - NHS/SoEPS/19.582 PIN
Notice Description
HEE, in partnership with NHS England & Improvement, is seeking to engage providers to deliver continuing professional development (CPD) workshops for pharmacists working in community pharmacy, providing services under the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/819601/cpcf-2019-to-2024.pdf. This is an initial 1 year contract with a maximum value of PS2,000,000. These figures include VAT. Please note payment relates to financial years. The Framework, agreed by DHSC, NHS England and NHS Improvement, and the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC), was released in July 2019, and describes how community pharmacy will support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. A new NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS), launched in October 2019, forms part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework. CPCS will enable patients to be better connected with community pharmacy, allowing delivery of an effective service that is convenient for patients and demonstrates the value of community pharmacy. HEE is intending to commission continuing professional development (CPD) workshops to drive forward the workforce elements of the Pharmacy Integration Fund and develop and strengthen the role of community pharmacists. The integration of pharmacy professionals into locally delivered care pathways will yield benefits for the patients and the service, resulting in a more responsive and clinically effective NHS primary care patient pathway whilst meeting the public's expectations for a modern NHS community pharmacy service. The Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Workshops will provide the opportunity to enhance community pharmacists' knowledge, skills and confidence to undertake effective patient-facing consultations, assessments and communications as part of the NHS urgent care pathways. The ambition is that pharmacists are valued across all sectors and recognised by patients and the public, and by all professions and industry leaders, for their impact and contribution to healthcare. This PIN is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Workshops: Market Engagement Workshop will be held on: Wednesday 23rd October 2019 from 10:00 to 13.00 at a central London location, TBC. This will provide an opportunity for potential providers to find out more about the aims of the tender, the procurement process and contracting arrangements as well as proving an opportunity for networking. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers which may influence the final tender. RSVP by Wednesday 16th October 2019 with the name, title, email address and telephone number for attendees (a maximum of two attendees per organisation) to: hee.phif@hee.nhs.uk Additional information: The Commissioner reserves the right not to proceed with the Procurement, or any part thereof, or change the requirements and timescales as necessary at any time. It is the intention of the Commissioner that the procurement will be conducted as a Service Contract using an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The ITT is expected to be published in November 2019 with delivery training to commence from March 2020. A separate advert will be released advising when the procurement is live for submissions.
