Summary of the contracting process

Surrey County Council is currently seeking a supplier for the "SCC IC Extra Care Housing Development" project, which involves the design, build, finance, and operation of extra care housing at five sites: Pinehurst, Brockhurst, Lakeside, Salisbury Road, and Bentley. This procurement is classified under the construction industry and is being conducted via a Competitive Procedure with Negotiation, aimed at securing around 309 affordable housing units. The tender period is set to conclude on 26 September 2022, and the contract is expected to commence on 31 May 2023 and run until 30 May 2048.

This project presents significant growth opportunities for companies specialising in construction, particularly those with expertise in affordable housing, community health services, and related sectors. Businesses equipped to handle large-scale construction projects, including those capable of coordinating multi-site developments and possessing strong financial and operational management skills, will be well-positioned to compete. Given the emphasis on negotiation and potential for a streamlined tender process, proactive engagement and clear proposals will be crucial for interested contractors.
