Notice Description

The British Geological Survey (BGS) will shortly be embarking on a full Open OJEU procurement to appoint a new Hard Services Provider. The estimated value of this contract is PS3.85 million over a 3-year contract. Ahead of commencing this exercise, we would like to invite potential suppliers to attend site to allow us to gain further understanding of the market. Our hope is that is engaging with industry experts, that we can ensure that this requirement is well placed when it hits the market in the near future. The key activities for this contract will be: * Planned Preventative Maintenance in accordance with SFG20 * Reactive Repairs to both the fabric and mechanical & electrical systems in accordance with SFG20. * Project Management. There is a requirement for a Project Management service to support the in-house teams * Attendance at meetings: 1. Weekly SLA Meetings 2. Monthly Finance and Contract Review meetings. 3. Quarterly QHSE Meetings / Auditing * Management of sub-contract Ahead of commencing this exercise, we would like to invite potential suppliers to attend site to allow us to gain further understanding of the market. Our hope is that is engaging with industry experts, that we can ensure that this requirement is well placed when it hits the market in the near future. The Supplier day will consist of a presentation by The British Geological Survey to outline the scope of this contract and the key factors for BGS, followed by an opportunity for suppliers to discuss this with the Contracting authority either in a group setting or during one of the 1-on-1 sessions. The aim of the day will be for potential providers to help define the business requirements, specification and contracting strategy in alignment with the industry. Equally, BGS want to collaborate with suppliers by sharing these business requirements at an early stage and actively seeking supplier feedback. The Supplier day will take place on Tuesday 25th September 2018 at the British Geological Services Headquarters, Keyworth, Nottingham, NG12 5GG. All requests to attend must be received by 17:00 on Friday 21st September. Additional information: We would request that attendance is restricted to key members of your organisation that would have a keen interest in this project and be able to add value to the discussions that will take place. The following sites will be covered under this contract: Headquarters - Keyworth, Nottingham The Lyell Centre, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Eskdalemuir - Geophysical Observatory, Langholm, Dumfriesshire (remote lowlands of Scotland) Herstmonceux Observatory - Hailsham, East Sussex Hartland Magnetic Observatory - Bideford, Devon Radiocarbon Facility, East Kilbride, Glasgow Lerwick Magnetic Observatory, Shetland Cardiff office, Cardiff University, Cardiff London office, Natural History Museum, London Wallingford, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford. The Estate is varied and consists of offices, laboratories, library, national archives, engineering workshops and server rooms and will be required to cover planned and reactive maintenance. A scope of indicative services can be seen in the document appended to contracts finder. It is estimated that the tendering process for this requirement will begin mid October 2018 At this time the Contracting Authority are looking to hold a supplier day in order to inform the ongoing specification and understand how suppliers would like to see this opportunity let. At this stage the decision has not been made as to if this will be advertised as one contract or a lotted procurement.
