Summary of the contracting process

Torbay Council is seeking a training provider for the "Edge of Care and Fostering Training", which focuses on delivering essential training for its Edge of Care Team in Torquay, England. This initiative falls under the education and training services industry category and is currently at the tender stage, with submissions due by 20th July 2020. The contract is valued at £106,000 and is planned to commence on 28th September 2020, lasting for one year. Interested suppliers are required to register on the ProContract e-Tendering portal to access the full tender documents.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in training services, particularly those with expertise in non-violent resistance and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy approaches. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are well-suited to compete, as the Council aims to enhance their team's capabilities to support children and families in need. Firms equipped to embed training into practical situations will find this opportunity particularly advantageous.

Notice Title

Edge of Care and Fostering Training

Notice Description

The Authority is looking for a training provider to deliver a series of training to the Council's Edge of Care Team. The Edge of Care service will support children and their families where the child is aged between 10 and 17. The Edge of Care service seeks to resist all admissions to care for children in this age group. However, there will be particular focus on those aged 13+ years in recognition of compelling research that care solutions do not positively impact upon this cohort unless there are significant and critical child protection issues to address. The service will work tenaciously and creatively with families to address any issues which ordinarily would result in children coming into care. There is a requirement to train up to 15 edge of care team members in facilitation of non-violent resistance (NVR) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) approaches. In addition a 3 months period of time to support the team to embed the learning with service users will be required. We also intend to train 'resilience foster carers' and supervising social workers in the same approach. Therefore we also require this to be provided for up to 20 individuals with practice embedding time allowed. Additional information: In order to provide unrestricted, full, direct and free of charge access to the Tender Documents the Authority is providing the Documents in PDF format in the 'Opportunities' Area of the ProContract e-Tendering portal, at www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk In order to access amendable versions of the Documents and to submit a response, Applicants must be registered as Suppliers on ProContract. Applicants should then register an interest in the opportunity and download the Documents for completion and submission.
