Summary of the contracting process

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is currently inviting bids for the "Adult (18 plus) Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service." This procurement falls under the healthcare sector and is focused on delivering essential support to adults in Rotherham who are struggling with addiction issues. The tender is in the open procurement stage, with submissions due by 17:00 on 7th April 2017. The contract, valued between £9.3 million and £9.8 million over four years, aims to enhance treatment effectiveness and will commence on 1st April 2018, prior to which potential contractors should be prepared for a rigorous selection process involving local partner agencies across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in healthcare services, community support, and addiction treatment. Organisations that can demonstrate innovative treatment models and a collaborative approach with local authorities will be well-placed to compete. Given the emphasis on clinical treatments and community partnerships, smaller yet capable companies, particularly those within the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, may find this a lucrative opportunity to extend their service offerings and impact in the region.
