Summary of the contracting process

The Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (Rotherham MBC) is currently conducting a market engagement process titled "21-198 Transforming Cities Fund Delivery Market Engagement - Civil Design and Build". This initiative aims to gather insights from civil engineering contractors to aid in the structuring and planning of prospective projects valued at approximately £9 million within the construction industry. The engagement exercise is in the planning stage, and interested parties are required to respond by 19th November 2021 in order to facilitate subsequent tendering processes. The Council is based in Rotherham, England, and the projects are focused on enhancing public and sustainable transport through the Transforming Cities Fund.

This procurement opportunity presents a significant growth avenue for businesses in the civil engineering sector, particularly those that specialise in construction and consultancy services. Contractors with expertise in the development of cycling infrastructure and bus corridors would find the upcoming tenders well-suited to their skill sets. With the projected opportunities stemming from the Transforming Cities Fund, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, supporting the Council in meeting its project deadlines and budgetary constraints.
