Summary of the contracting process

Medway Council is seeking to engage a development partner through an open tender for the construction of residential and commercial structures at Rochester Riverside, a significant regeneration project in Medway, Kent. This opportunity, classified under the construction works industry, has a total contract value of approximately £32.4 million and a minimum value of around £2.9 million. The tender is currently active, with a submission deadline of 6 March 2015. The contract period for the project is set to start on 6 November 2015 and continue through to 6 November 2030, following substantial public funding invested in site preparation and infrastructure development.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses with expertise in large-scale construction, particularly those capable of managing mixed-use developments. Firms experienced in urban regeneration and those with the financial and technical capability to undertake extensive works will be well-suited to compete for this project. The development aims to create a vibrant community through a blend of housing and commercial space, making it an attractive prospect for construction firms looking to expand their portfolio in the South East of England.
