Summary of the contracting process

Southampton City Council is seeking experienced contractors for the "Guildhall Copper Roof Replacement Works" project, located in Southampton, England. The tender is currently in the active planning stage, with an estimated project value of £440,000. The deadline for submitting the prequalification questionnaire is 12:00 pm on 2 April 2015. The tender documents are anticipated to be issued in April 2015, with site commencement expected in August 2015, followed by a contract duration of approximately 12 weeks. This procurement process is conducted using a selective method, specifically a restricted procedure, and a minimum of three and a maximum of eight tenderers will be invited to submit bids.

This project represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in construction and roofing work, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Companies that specialise in roof works and related construction trades would be well-suited to compete in this tender, benefiting from the chance to engage with a notable public sector project and potentially establishing a long-term relationship with Southampton City Council. Interested firms are encouraged to contact the council’s representative, Rebecca Louise Newman, via email for more information on the prequalification process and technical details.
