Replacement Goals and New Play Provision

Notice Description

Deadline for tender submission extended to 12.00pm on 13th September 2024 Fawley Parish Council is proposing to replace existing single pipe goals at three sites with modern, safer, solid backed permanent goals constructed of steel and suitable for use by children and/or adults. An example of the preferred style is Kompan's FRE 3050 (the tender is not restricted to this and the example given is indicative of style only). The goals to be supplied and fitted with old goals removed and disposed of. At another site called Renda Road play area it has a small amount of play equipment on site that is serviceable. The recent annual inspection report is available with this invitation to tender. The Council is seeking improvements to the play provision and would like to provide facilities for up to age 15 in order for the site to be appropriate for detached youth work. A full spec with maps and the methods by which to apply is available on the Council website https://www.fawley-pc.gov.uk/invitation-to-tender-for-replacement-goals-and-a-new-play-provision/ Additional information: The tender deadline has been extended to 13th September 2024 14th August 2024 update of answers to questions: * Wetpour would be preferred but all other options will be considered. * Existing mulch will need to be removed. * Preferred goal height is 2 meters. * There is no public consultation on this tender. 19th August Questions Would you prefer steel or timber equipment? What safety surfacing is acceptable? Grass mats, wetpour? What types of play would children like to see? Swinging, rocking, climbing Answer on the whole we are looking for the maximum equipment for the budget so we have no preference steel or wood. Safety surfacing we prefer vandal resistant and the type of equipment is open - there are swings on site already and as we indicated it is the older age group we would like to see catered for 22nd August 2024 Excavated soil can be redistributed on site 2nd September 2024 6.1 relates to section 19 and the quotation breakdown - apologies that my wording is not clearer Reinstatement is to the standard that was on site at the commencement of works however we accept that soil will be seeded where it was previously grass Contingency we will leave to yourselves as you will know what PS risks relate to the site with the offered equipment
