Formal Tender for Large Format Advertising & Sponsorship Sites on Behalf of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Sandwell is a metropolitan borough in the West Midlands, lying immediately to the west of Birmingham. Along with the adjoining boroughs of Walsall, Dudley and Wolverhampton, Sandwell makes up the area known as the Black Country, a compact and rapidly modernising urban area of around 1,080,000 people, of whom 308,000 live in Sandwell itself (2011 census). The Borough is at the very heart of the national motorway network and includes within its boundaries the intersection of the M5 and M6 motorways, along with four further motorway junctions, which together offer unparalleled access to all parts of the UK. Sandwell also has a mainline railway station at Sandwell and Dudley, which is on the West Coast main line and is just 10 minutes from Birmingham city centre. Midland Metro line 1 runs from Wolverhampton to Birmingham, with 10 stations within the borough, all offering swift and direct connections to all parts of the two city centres. The Borough is made up of six towns, the most important of which is West Bromwich, identified as a strategic town centre in the Black Country core strategy and currently experiencing a period of intense redevelopment and expansion, while just 1 Km from Junction 1 of the M5. The other five towns of Sandwell are Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton and Wednesbury. Tenders are invited for licence concessions for a number of large format advertising & sponsorship sites. The successful bidder will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of large advertising formats across the borough and for selling of advertising on these formats to realise a guaranteed income to the Council.
