Summary of the contracting process

The University of Bath conducted an open tender for the "IoC Diversity Service Campaign," aimed at addressing the digital skills gap in the UK tech sector. This procurement falls under the marketing services category with a total contract value of £300,000. The tender period concluded on 9th July 2019, while the contract period runs from 20th July 2019 to 19th July 2021. The services are to be delivered in the South West region of the United Kingdom, targeting the recruitment and training of a more diverse group of individuals in tech.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in marketing services, particularly those experienced in campaigns centred on diversity and inclusion within education and technology. Organisations that focus on innovative outreach strategies or have a track record of engaging underrepresented groups in tech-related fields would be particularly well-suited to compete. The initiative aligns with a growing demand for more diverse talent in the tech workforce, creating pathways for businesses to support and benefit from this transformative shift.

Notice Title

IoC Diversity Service Campaign

Notice Description

The Institute of Coding (IoC) is responding to the digital skills gap in the UK by encouraging a larger, better-trained and more diverse group of people to enter higher education and proceed into roles within the tech sector. One of the main issues identified as part of the skills gap is a lack of diversity within the tech sector. Only 17% of the UK tech workforce are women and 8% of senior leaders (in general) are from a minority background. This problem starts at a young age and very few women and people from minority backgrounds are choosing higher education in computer science-related fields.
