Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being conducted by Thanet District Council for the project titled "Coastal Zone Term Maintenance," which falls under the civil engineering category, specifically focusing on repair and maintenance services. The contract duration is set for 3 years, with a possible extension of up to 2 additional years. Potential suppliers should submit their completed tender documents electronically via the Kent Business Portal by 14:00 hrs on 8 March 2017. The procurement method is an open procedure, with the evaluation of tenders based on criteria outlined in the Invitation to Tender document. This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in civil engineering and maintenance services, particularly those capable of responding to emergency repairs and carrying out concrete repairs, drainage works, and fencing tasks. Suppliers with experience in coastal infrastructure projects or those who can provide 24-hour call-out services will be particularly well-suited to compete. The minimum contract value is £450,000, with an expected maximum value of £750,000, making this a potentially lucrative opportunity for SMEs looking to expand their service capabilities in public sector contracts.
