Notice Title

Core Network Upgrade

Notice Description

Contract awarded under Lot 2 of the CCS Framework RM1045, Network Services. Bury Council wish to replace their current data centre core switches and move to a more resilient and cost effective solution. The requirement must provide resilient network switching within the top of designated racks for server connections and then onward connections to a core data centre switch for inter rack and inter site communications to Bury data centres. Connections from the local sites will then be connected to a new core from either Bury Council's own fibre connection, via MPLS connections or local edge switches. Bury Council wish to deploy a solution which will provide a detailed insight into the network usage and provide easier administration through the adoption of a multi-vendor Network Management platform. The successful bidder must be certified at the highest level of manufacturer accreditation with the proposed solutions vendor, and the proposed solution must include a design of the new switching, installation of the new switching and a scope of work to integrate the new switches into the Bury Network.
