Because of CV19 government took a decision to continue to pay grants to bus operators despite falling passenger numbers to ensure services were available for key workers. Those grants now need to be reconciled. The Original Contract has been extended including a 50% value uplift. The contract was let with an option to extend by six months and due to the Covid-19 pandemic lasting longer than predicted, the Contracting Authority needed to take up the extension option.
