Notice Title
Advocacy Provision in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough - Provider Event
Notice Description
**Please note the window for this opportunity is now closed** Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council invite potential providers to an information event about Independent Advocacy Services. This is an opportunity to find out about the outcome of stakeholder consultation and about the tender process. The consultation can be found here: http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/site/custom_scripts/cons_details.aspx?ref=415 The event will be held on Monday 7th March, 10.00-11.30 at the Cambridge Professional Development Centre, Trumpington. If you wish to attend please contact Alison Bourne (alison.bourne@cambridgeshire.gov.uk) as soon as possible to secure your place. The Councils are taking the implementation of the Care Act 2014 as an opportunity to re-commission a new integrated advocacy service for their areas. It has recently been agreed that Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will work together to take forward a joint commissioning approach. The process will culminate in two separate contracts so that financial arrangements and budgets remain clearly defined within each area. However, we will take forward a single tender process and agree on joint monitoring processes. Both Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are fully committed to the principles and benefits of independent advocacy and want the new independent advocacy service to build on the success of current and previous services.
