Summary of the contracting process

The Sheffield Hallam University e-Tendering is initiating a selective tender process for the construction of the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, a project valued at £9,800,000. This contract falls under the construction industry category and is currently at the planning stage. Interested parties must submit a Standard Qualification Questionnaire via the university's e-tendering system by 11:00 on 10 May 2017, with the construction period anticipated to commence on 8 January 2018 and conclude by 22 February 2019. The project's location is Sheffield, South Yorkshire, with a brief stating that the building will feature advanced laboratories and office space within a five-storey steel frame structure.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for construction firms, particularly those with experience in design and build contracts who are adept in innovative construction techniques. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the procurement is structured to allow for a competitive tendering process that favours capable contractors demonstrating relevant expertise. Businesses engaged in laboratory construction, architectural design, and innovative structural engineering would benefit from this opportunity to expand their project portfolio and build a relationship with a prominent educational institution.
