Notice Title
Home Monitoring Technology to support independent living for people with Dementia
Notice Description
The Council is looking to improve its assistive technology offer to people living with dementia. The current offer is a based on traditional analogue solutions. With the analogue switch-off in 2025, the Council is keen to trial wholly digital solutions that connect via the internet and offer instant connectivity for carers using a smartphone or tablet. Working jointly with partners in the District and Borough Councils, we plan to run a pilot using a digital home monitoring solution, for people with dementia who are living at home. The pilot will be for 50 people and is expected to last for 6 months. It will operate in the following geographic areas: Charnwood, North West Leicestershire, Hinckley and Bosworth, Blaby, Oadby and Wigston. The pilot is seeking to achieve the following outcomes: * People are supported to live as independently as possible at home * Family and carers are reassured about the wellbeing of the person being cared for * People are supported, through technology to return home quickly and safely, after a hospital admission * People are supported, through technology to improve their health and wellbeing and have a better quality of life * Delivers technology that is reliable, easy to use and affordable * Technology adopted promotes co-ordination and communication between partner agencies
