Summary of the contracting process

East Sussex County Council, acting as the Contracting Authority on behalf of the South East Grid for Learning (SEGfL), is seeking a service provider for the SEGfL Software Framework. This procurement process involves sourcing a software framework that will offer a variety of software solutions to its users via an online portal. The process is in the Tender stage, with the tender period ending on 13th November 2024 at 12:00 PM. The contract is set to commence on 2nd January 2025 and will run for a period of 3+1 years. The framework primarily targets the software package and information systems industry, and will be promoted to over 32,000 educational establishments in the UK, including various local authorities and third-sector organisations.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in software solutions, particularly those offering application licensing, security software, educational filtering products, and educational software, among other commercial off-the-shelf software. The successful supplier will benefit from aggregated software spending, providing preferential pricing and discounts, and will manage a purchasing portal for direct awards. Businesses adept in software support, maintenance, asset management, and renewals will find this framework beneficial. It suits large suppliers due to its requirements and scale, potentially excluding SMEs and VCSEs. The framework provides a platform to scale operations through extensive engagement with educational and local government sectors across the UK.
