Notice Description

We have the requirement for highly skilled and experienced Developers to develop systems using Oracle technologies (usually APEX), augmenting our in-house software development team at York Hospital. Most of the development work can be undertaken remotely, but possible expectation of attendance on site. The frequency of on-site presence will vary based on the needs within the project, but is generally expected to be no more than 2 days per month. The required work will be new functionality within, or enhancements to, our existing clinical systems, including our electronic patient care record. Fully detailed development specifications will generally not be supplied. The successful bidder will supply Developer(s) to work with our product team which will include our digital clinical leads, other key users and members of our in-house development team. Working with these and other stakeholders, the developer will finalise specifications. The successful bidder should be providing resources that are fully experienced in all aspects of the software development process, including Systems Analysis and user engagement and be fully conversant with modern techniques, approaches and methodologies. Successful bidders will be able to submit bids for individual work lots or projects as required by the organisation. Specific requirements will vary and will be detailed within individual lot applications. The framework contract is for a 4-year period or expiry of the contract whichever comes first. This contract will expire on the 31.01.2028. Person specification: The work will require a highly skilled oracle developer(s) with at least two (2) years oracle development experience. Minimum Skills Required: - experience of all aspects of software development processes - significant development experience of oracle database version 11gR2 or above - oracle APEX version 18 or above, CSS and JavaScript - excellence in communication skills is expected - experienced in user engagement and user led design Beneficial: - oracle forms 12 deployed on WebLogic servers - oracle PL/SQL to an advanced level - creation, storage and rendering of documents, utilising healthcare interoperability standards - extensive knowledge of HL7, FHIR and other messaging mechanisms used within the NHS - extensive knowledge of healthcare systems and NHS commissioning datasets and standards YSHFT may choose to subject developers to technical tests and formal reviews. Expected Project Work includes: 1. Migration of existing Oracle Forms functionality to Oracle APEX (version 18 or above) 2. Upgrade of existing APEX functionality to use the Oracle Universal Theme within our development framework 3. Enhancement of APEX modules to consume REST API's 4. Building of new APEX modules 5. Enhancement and extension of existing electronic patient record systems including electronic prescribing and medicines administration 6. Creation of APIs 7. implementation of HL7 interfaces and interface configuration
