Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking to establish the HAC5671 Appropriate Adult Services Framework, aimed at providing support services for vulnerable children and adults in police custody. The open tender process began on January 27, 2021, and closed on February 19, 2021. The successful bidder will deliver services primarily within the borough and possibly at other relevant locations, with the contract set to commence on April 1, 2021, and run for an initial 24 months, extendable for up to an additional 24 months. The total contract value is £240,000, categorised under Other community, social and personal services. Interested parties may contact Julia Estruga at procurement@towerhamlets.gov.uk for further details.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector organisations (VCSEs) that specialise in social services, particularly those experienced in working with vulnerable groups, including children and individuals with mental health or learning disabilities. The unique nature of the service, which requires a keen understanding of the needs of clients in sensitive environments like police custody, means that firms with relevant experience and proven methodologies will be in a strong position to compete effectively for this contract and contribute positively to community safeguarding.
