Notice Description

he Works will involve external rear courtyard improvements and internal works to the block's common areas. The flats are of non-traditional construction, namely Wimpey No Fines type, and were built in 1965. The block consists of 6 self contained flats. External walI insulation has already installed. 117- 127 Coniston Road can be accessed only at the rear by road. . The exterior courtyard is currently secure, is laid to tarmac, and surrounded by walls and other buildings. There are a number of rotary clothes lines installed, and bins and storage are highly visible from the flats. The brief is to improve the amenity of the courtyard and provide an area for communal recreation while retaining it's function as an area for drying clothes. The scope of works covers the design and installation of new resin paving, washing lines, and landscaping to the private courtyard serving the flats. Internal works to the common areas will involve removal of asbestos suspended ceilings and replacement with new MF plasterboard, new floor finishes, new doors from the common areas to the courtyard, minor security upgrades and redecoration throughout. No structural works will be required.
