Summary of the contracting process

The University of East Anglia is currently conducting a tender process for the contract titled "PURCON757 Ad Hoc Security". This procurement falls under the security services category and is located in Norwich, East of England, United Kingdom. The tender period will conclude on 6th April 2018, with the contract intended to begin on 1st May 2018 and lasting until 30th April 2020. The procurement method employed is categorised as "Other," and it is primarily aimed at providing temporary and ad hoc staffing to support the university's in-house security team.

This tender presents excellent opportunities for security service providers who can deliver licensed personnel, particularly those with Door Supervisor accreditation and, ideally, Community Safety Accreditation Scheme staffing capabilities. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in providing temporary security personnel and robust working practices in collaborative environments will likely find this tender advantageous. Businesses that can ensure a vigilant presence on campus, as well as possess experience with event security and traffic management roles, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract.

Notice Title

PURCON757 Ad Hoc Security

Notice Description

The contractor shall make provision for temporary and ad hoc staff to support and compliment the in house security team for the university as required. There will not be any time when the contractor is not working alongside the universities in house security team. The contractor shall be responsible for providing a vigilant, visible, and active presence that shall deter criminal activity on campus alongside the in house team, providing reassurance to legitimate users of the campus. The Contractor shall achieve this through good working practises with the in house team and working to ensure that any events that the contractor are supporting, are delivered safely and securely according to campus policies. Due to the nature of the security function on campus, the contractor will be required to provide Door Supervisor licenced personnel to work on site, and on a less frequent basis staff members with an SIA CCTV licence, although this requirement is expected to be minimal. The nature of the work undertaken by the campus team means that they are often working in or near licenced premises, or dealing with the after affects within the residence blocks. The campus team will also on occasion require assistance with traffic matters but personnel provided for this function must also be licenced to at least Door supervision standards. It would be preferable if the contractor is also able to provide Community Safety Accreditation Scheme staff (CSAS) for some functions.
