Summary of the contracting process

The Cheshire Constabulary, on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, has awarded a contract for the "Modernisation Programme - Phase 2" of the Cheshire Fire Authority. This contract, valued at £165,653.87, is part of a broader investment of £8.5 million aimed at modernising 21 fire stations across the region, with the contract period running from 7th August 2019 until 31st March 2025. This tender falls under the construction industry category and is at the Award stage of the procurement process, following the completion of a competitive procedure under the Procure North West Framework. The intended improvement works aim to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the fire stations, particularly those built between the 1960s and 1990s, within the North West of England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction firms, particularly those with experience in modernisation and refurbishment projects. Businesses that are well-positioned to compete include those offering construction, repair, and maintenance services, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that can demonstrate capacity for significant renovations and value engineering. The five-year modernisation programme allows for participation through various design and build contracts, providing a steady pipeline of work and potential for long-term partnerships with public sector clients like the Cheshire Fire Authority.

Notice Description

***This is a Contract Award Notice*** Cheshire Fire Authority (CFA) - Modernisation Programme Phase 2. Following the success of building 4 new Fire Stations at Alsager, Lymm, Powey Lane and Penketh Cheshire Fire Authority (CFA) is looking to invest in the modernisation and re-modelling of 21 of their Fire Stations to bring them up to a standard closer to the new builds. Tarporley and Bollington fire stations have been contracted to Cruden Construction group (via the Procure North West Lite Framework) to drive progress in the programme, this leaves 19 fire stations over the 5 year programme. The Stations are located across the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service area and vary in size, form of construction and date, these being from the 1960's to 1990's.
