The CTM Portal for the NDA Shared Services Alliance is seeking tenders for the "Provision of Crane - Maintenance and Lift Operations Support ITT," part of the lifting and handling equipment industry. This procurement process is currently in the active tender stage, with submissions due by 3rd February 2021. The contract is expected to commence on 15th April 2021 and will run for five years, concluding on 14th April 2026. Bidders should note that the expected contract value is between £1 million and £10 million. The need for regular compliance inspections, such as LOLER, and the drafting of detailed reports further emphasises the demand for contractors with experience in this specialised field. Notice Description

The overview of the scope requires the successful contractor to deliver inspection, maintenance and operation of the fixed gantry cranes at the following sites, with a range in sizes of 55 tonne lifting capacity: - Valley - Berkeley - Bridgwater - Dungeness - Leiston - Southminster - Georgmas (110 tonnes lifting capacity) All cranes require monthly planned maintenance inspections with additional, in depth, quarterly inspections which captures the inspection of the crane requiring MWEP access. The remaining cranes at Crewe (one 5 tonne & one 1 tonne) and Carlisle (one 5 tonne) require a six-monthly inspection and maintenance regime only (LOLER). The successful contractor is required to draft review reports for all visits to every location highlighting all completed work and any identified remedial work that will be required in future visits. The contractor must undertake LOLER inspections every six months at all the locations detailed above to ensure DRSL remain statutory compliant within the permitted timescales and provide all required certification. The contractor must provide sufficient resource to cover all maintenance and operational activities at all DRSL locations as per the service day plans and agreed maintenance days. This, as a minimum requirement, is a lift supervisor and a lift technician for each activity. During each operation and maintenance activity the contractor is responsible for managing the physical security at each of the railhead locations (Valley, Bridgwater, Berkeley, Dungeness, Southminster and Leiston) ensuring that the DRS security and contingencies documents are adhered to at all times.
