Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Tree Equity & Urban Resilience Project" is currently in the Tender stage, initiated by Trees for Cities as the contracting authority. This initiative supports the Mayor of London's plan, aimed at enhancing tree equity and urban resilience across various London neighbourhoods at risk from heat and social vulnerabilities. The project covers engineering-related scientific and technical services, urban planning and landscape architectural services, forestry, and environmental services. Interested consulting firms can submit bids for this strategic initiative, which requires a consortium of skills with one lead consultant. The tender process is being conducted through a direct, single tender action method as it's below the threshold. Proposals are due by 4th August 2026, with an anticipated contract start on 25th August 2026, lasting until 23rd December 2027. The location for delivery is London, United Kingdom, with a contract value of £254,000. The project is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs).

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specializing in urban planning, environmental consultancy, and forestry services to enhance their market footprint in the public sector. The focus on tree equity and climate resilience can accommodate a variety of businesses that are adept in mapping, investment planning, and environmental impact assessment. Firms that can form consortia or that can demonstrate a wide range of technical skills related to urban treescape enhancements are particularly well-suited to compete. This public procurement presents a valuable chance for growth, partnering with a prominent London authority, and aligning with sustainable and ecological urban development objectives that are increasingly central in urban policy planning.
