C1 Ambulance driver training is required for paramedics because most ambulances fall under the C1 vehicle category, which refers to vehicles weighing between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes. Paramedics typically drive these larger vehicles due to the weight of the ambulance, medical equipment, and personnel on board.
