The process reached the tender stage: Hythe Town Council invited offers through a limited competitive quotation procedure. Sealed tenders were to be submitted by post by 5.00 pm on 31 December 2026. The council planned to notify tenderers of the outcome in writing by 15 January 2027, with interviews for shortlisted contractors expected during the week starting 25 January 2027. The contract period is 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032. The estimated contract value is £32,388. This is a single grounds maintenance requirement for the council’s sites, excluding South Road.

The requirement suits grounds maintenance contractors able to undertake a varied programme of routine care and seasonal horticultural work across public open spaces. Relevant capabilities include grass cutting, edging, weeding, planting and pruning, together with small tree works and the ability to respond to other grounds maintenance tasks as required. The work calls for delivery that keeps public parks and open spaces clean, tidy and well maintained for community use. Small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community and social enterprises are identified as suitable to take part. The stated range of tasks gives relevant suppliers a clear basis for judging whether their grounds maintenance services match the council’s needs.
