        "description": "The Works to be carried out under this Contract are located throughout the County of Worcestershire. The Works consist of transportation and highway infrastructure improvements and structures projects. The contractor may be required to design and construct or solely construct. Examples of works includes (but is not limited to): o Junction improvements o Railway station enhancements and other railway infrastructure o Cycle ways o Corridor improvements o Public realm enhancements o New road construction o Retaining wall construction & maintenance o Bridge maintenance and construction (all types) o Masonry repairs Individual projects are anticipated to be in the range: ?25,000 to ?10m. The Council wishes to emphasise the mix of work described by the above list, and anticipated value range. It should also be noted that the programme of works is not currently fixed, and this may lead to variability in workload through this contract. Annual budgets are variable and not guaranteed, being dependent upon on availability of funding. The contract is under NEC4 ECC Option C target cost arrangements for a duration of four years with the potential to extend for up to a further three years, dependent upon performance and value to the Council. Features o For the delivery of smaller schemes, the use of a local supply base forms part of the Social Value evaluation and ongoing performance management o Early Contractor Involvement service o Supporting WCC's Corporate Parenting promises in terms of providing work opportunities for the children and young people in our care. Examples of this could include; providing apprenticeships, work placements, shadowing and other work experience opportunities for children in care or care leavers.
