Summary of the contracting process

The Luxulyan Valley Project (Leats) is currently in the planning stage, being conducted by Cornwall Council. This tender pertains to works in the construction industry, specifically focusing on river-wall construction and associated repairs over a distance of approximately 2.7 miles in the South West of England. The anticipated budget for the project is £800,000, and key dates include an engagement end date on 23 February 2018 and an open day for contractors on 18 September 2017, where potential bidders can gather further information, including a site tour and Q&A session.

This project presents an excellent opportunity for construction firms, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to engage in significant heritage and conservation works. Businesses with expertise in river-wall construction, waterway infrastructure, and related engineering services would be particularly well-suited to compete. Contractors are encouraged to attend the open day to discuss the project and clarify any requirements, potentially positioning themselves for further work related to the interconnected repairs outlined in the project scope.
