Notice Title

LB Hillingdon- Design & Installation of drainage system- Bourne Farm Playing Fields

Notice Description

The design and installation of a field drainage system into the playing field of Bourne Farm Playing Fields, specifically beneath the football pitches. This field is owned by the Council but leased to Sandgate Football Club. The Budget for this project is PS80K. BACKGROUND Sandgate Youth Football Club is run as a charity. It was established in 1969, with a clubhouse constructed in 1984. They now have over 250 members, aged from 4 to under 18, with numbers increasing due to new housing developments in the area, and around 40 volunteers. The club and facilities are often used for community and sport events, including allowing local primary and special educational needs schools to use the clubhouse and field for sports days. Sandgate Youth Football Club play on a field that is open to the public and is a popular place for dog walkers and groups using the site for a recreational game of football. The site is accessible all year round. The site has extreme drainage issues which are worsening. This can lead to the pitches being unplayable on, and football games being cancelled during and after periods of wet weather. It is expected that the works will be substantially completed by the end of March 2025, working with the football club to programme in the work to a schedule that best suits all involved.
