Summary of the contracting process

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is conducting a tender for the supply of a Robotic Immunoassay System, aimed at enhancing its laboratory capabilities in Buxton, Derbyshire, UK. This open procedure tender is currently active, with a submission deadline set for 16 October 2017. The contract is expected to commence on 1 December 2017 and will run until 30 March 2018. The project falls under the category of laboratory, optical, and precision equipment, specifically focusing on goods necessary for allergen analysis and method development.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the manufacturing and supply of advanced laboratory equipment, particularly those specialising in robotic systems and immunoassay technologies. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find this tender particularly appealing, given the emphasis on innovation and quality that HSE is likely seeking from suppliers. Companies able to provide installation, commissioning, and training services may have a competitive edge in fulfilling the requirements of this procurement process.

Notice Title

Robotic Immunoassay System

Notice Description

HSL is inviting tenders for the supply of robotic ELISA immunoassay system employing colorimetric detection. This will replace the current Tecan Evo system. Initially it will operate as a standalone, computer-operated instrument, although there is the possibility that it could be linked in the future to the sample database via our IT network. The system will largely run liquid extracts of air samples for allergen analysis that form a major part of our commercial service. However, urine and serum samples are also run. The instrument will also be used to develop and evaluate new methods. Assays are a mixture of commercially available assays and those developed inhouse. The system is likely to be used on a daily basis by a limited number of trained staff Additional information: If you are interested in this opportunity and to gain access to the documentation required in order to respond to this opportunity you will be required to register on HSE's eProcurement portal.
