Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence, headquartered in Bristol, England, is seeking to procure Defensive Aids Systems (DAS) through a direct single tender action with Leonardo UK Ltd. This contract, valued at £100,000,000, aims to procure, sustain, and enhance DAS over three years, with potential extensions for up to two additional years. The contract includes the supply of hardware, software, ancillaries, training, and support services, with delivery to locations including British Oversea Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, Rest of the World, and the United Kingdom. The tender stage is currently active, with a tender period ending on 31st March 2025, and the contract period running from 30th June 2025 to 30th June 2028.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, especially for companies involved in the manufacturing, maintenance, and enhancement of electronic warfare systems and countermeasures. Large defence contractors with experience in providing comprehensive support services, including hardware and software integration, technical engineering, and training, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The specialised nature of this procurement, and the long-term support commitment required, makes it particularly relevant for established players in the defence sector who can ensure the provision of critical operational capabilities for Defence.
