Notice Title
Portable Lateral movement detection to detect S&C gauge spread - EARLY MARKET ENGAGEMENT
Notice Description
This information is requested as part of a soft market testing exercise in order to seek the market's solution to detect lateral movement at any point in the track over a 100m length, including in curves and in turnout routes in S&C. The two scenarios in mind are to detect gauge spread in S&C turnouts and to detect the presence of a track buckle. The solution ideally will: 1. Be portable to enable management of various sites based on engineering need 2. Transmit alerts to Engineers - positive confirmation at a suitable interval that the track hasn't moved but an alarm when the track is showing signs of irregular or sudden movement 3. Withstand the operating environment - vibrations, minor track movement and weather 4. Have battery life sufficient to give engineers coverage on a site for up to 7 days 5. Must measure and record dynamic lateral movements of the rail foot under traffic relative to a datum 6 Must be compatible with DC third rail electrification and train detection systems 7 Must be able to detect complete fracture of housing or chairscrew at or below the top surface of the bearer without removal of the associated rail fastening 8 Device must work for housings and chairscrews in concrete and timber bearers. 9 Must be compatible with DC third rail electrification Suppliers are requested to provide information on any of their existing products available on the market that fit Network Rail's brief above. You will be expected to confirm product compliance to all of the above requirements. Please provide your information within the timescales stated to the email address stated an title your email including the wording "Portable Lateral movement detection to detect S&C gauge spread" to make it easily identifiable
