Build Elements of New Conflict in Europe Gallery

Notice Description

The project is to reconfigure the current Battle Gallery which is a permanent gallery at the National Army Museum. Whilst many elements of the existing gallery are to be utilised in the new display, there is a requirement for new construction work, including building new walls, the removal and relocation of some plinths, interactives and making good of existing areas before decoration. The Museum is purchasing five new display cases, manufactured by an external company, that the builder will need to interface with and provide enabling works for. The works will also include the strip out of the current Society Gallery, the removal, packing and transport to an offsite address in Stevenage of a number of empty display cases and Miniclimas. The relocation and protection of display items that will be remaining in the gallery. Removal of internal walls and set works and making good of all external gallery walls after works have been completed. The current Society and Battle gallery are adjacent. NAM wishes to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to undertake these works as outlined in the attached documents and priced in accordance with Annex E - Template for Pricing, which should be read in conjunction with all the design drawings in Annex F (separate cover). The contractor is responsible for confirming their own measurements from site and producing As Build drawings for sign off by the Client. A site visit is essential to understand the full scope of the project.
