Cancer Awareness Campaigns

Notice Description

Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA), hosted at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust, brings together organisations, patients and others affected by cancer to drive improvements in clinical outcomes and patients' experience of the care and treatment they receive. We work closely with cancer services and people affected by cancer to achieve: * Better Cancer Services, by providing access to expertise and learning; leading change in care pathways, and in piloting new scientific innovations * Better Cancer Care, by sharing and building on good patient experience practice * Better Cancer Outcomes, by increasing early detection, early diagnosis; enabling early access to cancer services and pathways, and ensuring cancer patients have access to the support they need to live long fulfilling lives beyond cancer The Alliance is responsible for cancer performance, quality and outcomes across Cheshire and Merseyside, and collaborates with NHS colleagues, and partners in the public and third sectors across Cheshire and Merseyside to champion and enable new approaches to delivering cancer services and care. We bring experts in cancer care together to deliver quantifiable positive change in how cancer care is delivered. CMCA is seeking to identify potential partners to design, run and evaluate marketing campaigns aimed at improving early diagnosis of cancer. The campaigns themselves will be discrete, measurable activity intended to improve timely presentation by increasing awareness of particular signs and symptoms, national screening programme, or focus on behaviours or barriers to attending primary care or seeking help. The campaigns could be aimed at the general public (or a subset) or relevant stakeholders e.g. health care professionals, primary care staff, employers, community groups. The Alliance will consider procuring: * New campaigns that include co-creation with the target audience * Campaigns that have already started in the region but need support to continue, grow to scale, be run in a different area, and/or have extra impact with additional investment. * Campaigns from elsewhere nationally that could work in Cheshire and Merseyside. * Regional and national campaigns that could be more impactful if a local component is procured in Cheshire and Merseyside. In particular, the alliance is looking to amplify national campaigns Help Us Help You and Be Clear on Cancer across the Cheshire and Merseyside region. This amplification could be in a particular geographical area or deprivation or targeted at an identified population depending on local needs, and begin in Quarter 2 or 3. It is anticipated that the Alliance will undertake 2-3 campaigns and expects that the cost for each campaign will range between PS20,000 - PS40,000.
