Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by English Heritage for the provision of Managed Open Access (MOA) services at Stonehenge, encompasses a contract period from 14 February 2021 to 31 December 2024, with a total value of £480,000. The tender, classified under cultural event organisation services, employs a selective procurement method through a restricted procedure due to its value exceeding the threshold. The tender period is open until 21 December 2020, and the location for service delivery is in the South West region of the United Kingdom, specifically at the Stonehenge visitors centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in event management, health and safety consultancy, and community engagement. Companies with expertise in managing large public gatherings, particularly those familiar with cultural events and stakeholder collaboration, would be well-positioned to compete. As this contract involves coordinating access for diverse groups, including various community and spiritual attendees, businesses that demonstrate an ability to foster inclusive environments and effective communication among different interest groups will likely find this tender especially appealing.

The value for the consultant fees is anticipated to be in the range of PS50k - PS150k over for 2 and up to 4 years. --- Since 2000, English Heritage has facilitated Managed Open Access (MOA) to Stonehenge for the celebration of the Summer Solstice, Winter Solstice, Spring and Autumn Equinox (Spring and Autumn Equinox fall outside of this contract).
