Summary of the contracting process

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Authority is currently in the tender stage for acquiring stabilisation and lifting equipment, primarily aimed at enhancing the safety and efficiency of frontline crews during road traffic collisions. This procurement, classified under the CPV code for security and fire-fighting equipment, will be accepting bids until 12:00 on 7 December 2020. The resulting contract, which may extend to 7 December 2025, is divided into three Lots: Lot 1 for stabilisation strut systems, Lot 2 for stabilisation block systems, and Lot 3 for air lifting bags. Contractors are encouraged to submit proposals for one or more of the Lots from a delivery address that includes various regions such as the United Kingdom and its overseas territories.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in emergency response equipment and automotive safety technologies. Suppliers of stabilisation and lifting solutions, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with innovative products, are well-positioned to compete in this procurement process. By successfully securing a contract, businesses can not only contribute to public safety but also expand their market presence within the fire and rescue sector. The open procedure allows for a competitive bidding environment, enhancing the potential for advantageous partnerships and increased sales within this essential industry.
