Notice Description

National Maritime Museum is seeking an experienced Principal Contractor to provide exhibition fit out services for Exposure exhibition in the New Insights Gallery of the National Maritime Museum. The contractor will be required to work with our in-house Exhibition and Design Team, as well as external Lighting Designer. The maximum value of this contract is PS45K Exposure is a photographic exhibition comprising c.75 2D framed works and AV interventions. This is a mainly 2D show but there will be c.3 supplementary 3D objects. The appointed contractor will be responsible for the construction of the exhibition which will involve exhibition setworks build (comprising new walling and quality finish of existing walling), 1 acrylic showcase, graphic production and installation, decoration and electrical works. Tenderers will need to have a proven track record of and provide examples of the following (tenders who do not meet these criteria will NOT be evaluated): Company turnover: please provide audited balance sheets for the last 3 years to demonstrate the soundness of the company's financial position, and that the company's annual turnover is at least PS1m. Relevant experience: experience as Principle Contractor in a Museum/Gallery setting, in at least 3 contracts within the last 3 years, each with a value upwards of approx. PS70K, that have been successfully completed and comparable to the proposed works. Capacity: the tenderer is required to demonstrate that they can deliver the contract within the tight programme, and has adequate resources, net of current commitments and works in progress. The successful contractor will be appointed at on or around 17th September 2020, with the exhibition fit out being completed by 30th October 2020. The exhibition will open to Press on w/c 16th November, and to the Public on Friday 20th November 2020. The exhibition is scheduled to be open to the public for at least 1 year. Additional information: The project also covers CPV code 45212310 Construction work for buildings relating to exhibitions.
