Summary of the contracting process

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency is initiating a procurement process to acquire fresh high-quality fertile chicken eggs suitable for medical research. The tender, titled "Fresh high quality fertile chicken eggs suitable for medical research," falls under the category of animal products and is located in the East of England. This procurement is currently at the planning stage, with the engagement end date set for 28 March 2019. Suppliers interested in participating are encouraged to express their interest by this deadline to avoid a direct award to an identified sole supplier.

This procurement presents a unique opportunity for businesses specialising in poultry farming and related agricultural products. Companies that can supply fresh, high-quality fertile eggs that meet specific health standards and can handle varying quantities on short notice would be well-positioned to compete. As the requirement is particularly specialised, suppliers able to demonstrate compliance with the technical specifications outlined are likely to find a valuable market in the medical research sector.
