Summary of the contracting process

The BFI is seeking bids for the "BFI Berkhamsted Workwear" tender, with a focus on acquiring occupational clothing, specifically white lab coats, tablecloths, and tea towels for its Berkhamsted site. The procurement process is currently in the active tender stage, having been published on 9th November 2016, with a deadline for submissions set for 30th November 2016. This open procurement method aims to provide essential wear for staff handling valuable film and TV materials, ensuring their protection and contributing to a professional working environment.

This tender presents an opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) specialised in providing workwear and laundry services to compete. Businesses that manufacture or supply occupational clothing and cleaning services would be particularly well-suited to respond to this tender and potentially establish a long-term relationship with the BFI, given that this is a recurrent procurement type anticipated to last until February 2020.

Notice Title

BFI Berkhamsted Workwear

Notice Description

The BFI National Archive at Berkhamsted and Gaydon holds the nations irreplaceable and invaluable collection of film and TV material, including stills, posters, scripts and books. The earliest film in our collection is from 1895. At our Berkhamsted site staff are working with all ranges of film and TV material at any one time. Staff working with film material, stills, posters and scripts, require a fitted white lab coat to help protect the material they are working on and their clothes. We require each member of staff to have a set of lab coats which are collected weekly for washing. We also hold tours at the Archive, where lunches are provided. These tours are intermittent so only a small amount of white tablecloths are required and will not require weekly washing. Tea towels are also required for the canteen, which are to be collected weekly. Additional information: To take part in this tender, please visit our website, at the address shown above, where you will need to register, if you haven't already, and express an interest in this opportunity to access the relevant documents.
