Notice Title

PHE - Corporate - E Block Humidification Plant Replacement

Notice Description

This is a proposal to replace an existing humidification plant at PHE Chilton. The humidifier delivers controlled air moisture to the ventilation system supplying the entire interior volume of air to a block of biological studies laboratories. It is vital that laboratory environment conditions are consistent and reliable to ensure the highest levels of Home Office compliance. The existing humidifier has been in continuous 24/7 operation since 2008 and has exceeded the forecasted 10 year life cycle of the asset. The operating age of the humidifier has resulted in deterioration of the main water vessels and components parts which has increased the risk of system failures and potential non-compliance of regulations which enable establishment licencing for the research within the aforementioned laboratories.
