Notice Description

The University wishes to appoint up to 6 search and selection consultants to effectively cover professional and academic appointments Professional Appointments These roles are typically at Director Level reporting to the Registrar, within the Professional Support Services. e.g. Director of Newcastle University IT Service Director of Corporate Affairs Executive Director of HR Director of Estates Director of Academic Services & University Librarian These roles are at the most senior level which lead, direct and manage the interrelationships of a team of managers/professionals across a major area of activity of strategic importance across the University. Academic Appointments These roles are Professors and Senior Academic leaders e.g. PVC, Dean, Head of Academic Unit, Professors at Newcastle are leaders within the academic community. They have a national and international reputation in their academic field and demonstrate leadership both within the University and externally, with recognition often extending beyond academia into relevant policy and practice communities. Like all academic members of staff, unless explicitly specified to the contrary, professors are expected to do research and teaching. Engagement is not normally a separate third activity, but in the main drives from research and teaching activities. Pro-Vice-Chancellors Are Members of the University's Executive Team. The allocation of specific responsibilities and projects within this team is determined by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time. Through membership of the team PVCs take on a corporate responsibility and help develop and implement University strategy and policies. Faculty PVCs Provide leadership on all aspects of the management of the Faculty ensuring the University achieves its mission to deliver teaching, research and engagement in the particular subject area (Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, Agriculture & Engineering and Medical Sciences) and contribute to its strategic position as civic university nationally and internationally
