Summary of the contracting process

The Tees Valley Combined Authority is seeking to establish a Legal Services Framework to provide specialised legal support across various disciplines. The procurement, classified under the legal services category, is at the Award stage with a total estimated value of between £5 million and £7.5 million over a four-year contract period, which is set to run from 2nd August 2021 to 31st July 2025. The tender was officially published on 27th May 2021, with a submission deadline of 28th June 2021. This initiative is located in the North East of England and follows an open procurement method, allowing widespread participation from interested suppliers.

This tender presents a considerable opportunity for law firms, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to broaden their client base and engage in long-term contracts within public sector legal services. Firms with prior experience in legal disciplines relevant to the specified Lots will be especially well-suited to compete. Given the cross-disciplinary nature of the framework, businesses with capabilities in various legal fields may find viable opportunities to deliver multiple services, thereby enhancing their growth potential in the competitive public procurement landscape.
