Notice Title

Introduction to Biomass Suppliers List (BSL)

Notice Description

The Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) was introduced by the Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), formerly the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), in April 2014. It supports the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme by ensuring that RHI payments are only issued to biomass boilers using woodfuel that meets certain sustainability and legal requirements. It allows RHI participants to easily demonstrate to Ofgem that the fuel they are using in their biomass boilers meets the RHI sustainability criteria required to claim their RHI payments. The BSL is currently administered and audited on behalf of BEIS by a third party. The scheme is self-funded and is paid for by participants. https://biomass-suppliers-list.service.gov.uk/ Purpose of the Supplier Engagement Event: BEIS anticipates hosting a supplier engagement event to discuss the types of skills and expertise we are seeking for this requirement. This will allow potential suppliers to ask us questions and to enable suppliers to network.
