Summary of the contracting process

Birmingham City Council is currently involved in a procurement process aimed at securing temporary accommodation for homeless citizens, including families with No Recourse to Public Funds. The tender, titled "P0328 - Private Sector Leasing," is classified under housing services. This contract has an end date for submissions of 31st May 2017, and it is anticipated to span from 1st June 2017 to 31st March 2021. The procurement is being conducted through an open procedure, with both a block contract and a framework agreement involved for the provision of approximately 1,050 furnished properties, facilitated via the council's e-tendering system, In-tend.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in temporary accommodation services, including those that can provide furnished housing solutions on a large scale. Companies with expertise in managing housing for vulnerable populations would be particularly well-suited to compete, as well as those that can navigate the requirements of contracts involving local authorities. Engaging with this tender could enable such businesses to expand their service offerings and contribute to addressing homelessness in the West Midlands.
