Summary of the contracting process

The Wise Group, a prominent social enterprise based in Glasgow, is currently conducting a tender titled "ESF BBO Wise Steps Enterprise Support" in the services sector. This procurement process is at the planning stage and aims to secure a specialist partner to deliver enterprise support to participants in the Tyne and Wear region, specifically in Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead, North Tyneside, and South Tyneside. The tender period is set to close on 14th April 2017, while the contract is expected to commence on 1st June 2017 and run until 30th April 2018. This initiative, supported by funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund, targets the delivery of educational and employment services to underprivileged individuals facing barriers to work.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in education and support services, particularly those specialising in enterprise development, self-employment guidance, and skills training. SMEs and voluntary and community sector enterprises are especially encouraged to participate given their ability to provide tailored support to diverse groups, including disabled individuals, minority ethnic communities, and unemployed individuals. The services required involve a mix of one-to-one and group work, making it ideal for organisations with expertise in facilitating training and support for disadvantaged clients aiming for improved employment outcomes.
