Summary of the contracting process

Public Health England (PHE) is seeking contractors for the "PHE - Science Hub - NEC Contract Management Software" project, which is part of a significant transition programme to consolidate locations into a new health science campus in Harlow, Essex. This procurement is currently in the active tender stage, having been published on 1st March 2019, with a tender deadline that has already passed on 7th January 2019. The contract period is set to begin on 1st March 2019 and will run until 31st December 2020. This project falls under the category of construction and civil engineering works.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in engineering, construction, or IT services, particularly those with the capability to handle classified information and secure systems. Companies that possess Cyber Essentials certification, ISO27001, or similar qualifications would be particularly well-positioned to compete, as PHE requires stringent security checks for contractors. Engaging in such projects can provide businesses with the chance to expand their portfolios, establish robust relationships with government authorities, and contribute to meaningful public health initiatives.
