Notice Title

Footpath improvement scheme

Notice Description

* The Town Centre Footpaths Scheme is intended to significantly enhance pedestrian accessibility and safety within the town square by providing three new pieces of footpath through the cobbles, upgrading and refurbishing other footpaths; whilst retaining the visual attraction of the area * The new pieces of footpath will be laid as closely as possible to the same specification and finish as the main footpath through the cobbles between Smith's printers and the Butter Cross. * The designs will also reflect to type of traffic each piece of footpath is expected to encounter. Those for pedestrians only will have generally larger flagstones and shallower foundations. Those exposed to light traffic will have smaller flags and deeper foundations to better spread and support the weight load. Those areas exposed to the frequent passage of heavy vehicles wilI have the deepest foundations and smallest flagstones * The upgrades will bring tired existing footpaths up to the same standard * The refurbishments will correct damage to sections installed in the previous scheme. * For a detailed specification please contact Jane Bentley - Town Clerk, Easingwold Town Council email: clerk@easingwold.gov.uk or telephone 01347 822422
