Summary of the contracting process

The West Midlands Fire Service is initiating a procurement process titled "Expressions of Interest for a Safe and Well Equipment Framework Agreement", aimed at suppliers in the emergency equipment industry. This opportunity is located in Birmingham, England and is currently in the planning stage. Suppliers are encouraged to express their interest by submitting completed forms by 21st July 2020, with the tender anticipated to be issued in September 2020 and the contract award expected by December 2020. The framework agreement will be valid for four years and may involve two initial lots: Fire Resistant Bedding and Home Safety Security Equipment.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses operating in the safety equipment sector, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) that can supply specialised items. Suppliers capable of delivering to various UK Fire and Rescue Services, holding stock, and offering competitive delivery terms will be well-suited to compete in this framework. Engaging in this procurement process could help businesses expand their market reach and establish long-term relationships with public sector clients across the UK.
